Sad News Everyone =/

E-mail Print

UPDATE: It appears that Spoony has finished work at MMM effective immediately. I find it sad he never got to say goodbye, but that's the way the radio business works sometimes I guess...

Today I woke up and was browsing through my Twitter feed, when I came across this tweet from @Spoonyman that made me incredibly sad.

TBM has moved!

E-mail Print

As many of you would already know, after The Bryan Madigan left Triple M Sydney last January and moved to the Sunshine Coast in QLD, he became the afternoon announcer at 91.9 SEA FM. After a very busy stint there (he even rode a bike to work early on I'm told, hope Spoony didn't find out) he has just moved to the Gold Coast and is now the morning announcer (9am-12pm) and music director on sister station 90.9 SEA FM.

Now, if you don't happen to live on the Gold Coast then you can stream SEA FM by clicking on 'listen live' at the very top left of their website.

The Spoonman Fan Club wishes TBM well as he rises up through the radio world, and we hope he's enjoying the ride!

Chocolate Jebus In 2011

E-mail Print

Hey Everyone,

For the last 2 years I've put up a section on the fan club dedicated to a genius idea Garfield came up with on ATFS Podcast Episode 8 - Chocolate Jebus: a way to combine religion and chocolate at easter and this section of the fan club is a place for you to make your own Chocolate Jebus and submit the photos! I got a few chocolate Jebus' posted  over the last few years, so I'm opening the category again for people to try it in 2011.

You can listen to the couple of minutes of audio which kicked this off here (plus a few bonus minutes of audio about people nailing themselves to crosses). You can also listen to the full episode by clicking ATFS Podcasts and navigating to Episode 8.

It's as simple as getting a Kit Kat, snapping it and positioning it into the shape of a cross, then get a Strawberry Freddo (the strawberry makes it look like blood) and putting it on the cross!

To Upload Your Creation:

1. Login with your Spoony Fan Club Account (If you don't have one, they're free :P - they just prevent bot spamming)

2. Under the "Spoon Fan Menu" on the left click Submit an Article (if required read the "Read Before You Post" page for the rules).

3. Give your creation a title. Click Image at the bottom of the big Text box and then click the chocjebus folder and then use the upload dialog box to upload your picture.

4. Write any other descriptions/etc you want in the big text box with the picture - and remember to give your post a title. Leave the section and category boxes as uncategorised and I'll fix it for you later!

Once approved, you can view your photo in the gallery with the other photos by clicking "The Chocolate Jebus Gallery" link on the left!

So get creating :)

Administrator Andrew!

Spoonman Covers The 2011 Brisbane Floods

E-mail Print

As you should know by now, during the week of January 10-16 2011, Brisbane received it's worst flooding since 1974 (but not quite peaking as high as 1974 thankfully). The Cage (Brisbane's local breakfast show) did a live broadcast across the country on January 12 and on January 13th & 14th, Gus Worland & Spoonman did a series of special broadcasts live from Brisbane. I think this is really good that these guys came back from holidays early and traveled to Brisbane to broadcast about the floods, but also to help out with tasks such as sandbagging. They have released a full podcast of the first of these special broadcasts and I have uploaded it here. There's some good details about the floods from Spoony in this podcast.

Download That Podcast Here:

January 13th: http://cid-fdcd3a2a3afd47c4.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/TheGrillTeamPodcast283.mp3

Also - Please donate to the QLD Premier's Flood Appeal (Spoony would want you to donate anything you can) at www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

All Spoony Podcasts Now Available For Download

E-mail Print

I have some great news for you all. I have finally finished uploading all 419 Spoonman show podcasts. You can now download every single Spoonman show podcast released between June 2006 and November 2008. As usual you can download the ATFS Podcasts, The Editorials From 2006-2007, Blog Entries, Photo Galleries, Random Raves as well as chat to other Spoonfans in the Spoony Chat Room and Forums.

I am sorry it has taken be over a year and 3 months to upload all these podcasts (I've gotten quite a few demands about being quicker about this), but as Spoony said, uploading often takes longer than real time, which isn't helped by my slow internet connection and also I've had a life to live and things to do such as schoolwork, so the site has had to be put on the backburner quite often.

So I welcome you to download the podcasts. Please don't ask me about moving the podcasts off Skydrive to another service, they're not moving, it's taken me long enough to put them all there, I'm not moving them all. Enabling Javascript will allow you download them.

FINALLY, I need your help now. I'm trying to make an archive of every Spoony Editorial since he's started them in August 2009. I'm currently missing 4 editorials from this year. February 10th 2010, Feburary 18th 2010, February 22nd 2010 and February 25th 2010. If any of you have any of those editorial episodes, could you please contact me via  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , so I may possible be able to get them e-mailed to me. I'd really apreciate it if you could help me.

Update: Thanks Very Much To Luke Taylor, Gene Venables, Garry C, Dean, George Papadopoulos, Mike Curran and many others for all offering/sending me the podcasts! Great the community is eager to help :)

So That's the great news, I thank you all for supporting this fan club and I hope you enjoy the many hundreds of hours of Spoony podcasts now available for your listening. I also thank my team of Admins and Editors on the site KG, Nathan, Pikelet and Sam Anderson for their help with bits and pieces along the way.
